SPEAKER

ROMANITA HAIRSTON

The 2011 Brooklyn Park Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will feature Romanita Hairston, the . With a deep faith in Christ and a gift for storytelling, she is a dynamic speaker who shares her passion for community renewal – renewal which so often begins with our children.

Growing up in Arkansas and inner-city Seattle, Ms. Hairston has lived and understood rural and urban poverty first-hand and knows the power positive programs, a supportive family, meaningful community relationships and a faithful God can make in a seemingly hopeless situation.

Dedicating her own life to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families, she now leads work in 8 major urban and rural areas in the U.S., giving hope to those in need and resources to those who are leading the way in the fight against poverty.

It is her belief that everyone can change the life of a child.  It begins when we recognize that other children are as valuable as our own and choose to make changes on their behalf.
